How RON Works

A quick guide for title companies and attorneys

How RON Works

Remote Online Notarization (RON) lets eligible signers complete a notarized transaction by secure live video instead of visiting an office.

The platform provides the technology. Notary Wineglass coordinates the closing.

What the signer needs

An accepted ID, access to their invitation, and a supported device with a camera, microphone, and reliable internet. They follow the identity checks, join the live session, and sign as instructed.

Useful for

  • Traveling signers
  • Out-of-state parties
  • Eligible overseas signers

Another method may fit

  • Wet ink required
  • Recipient declines RON
  • Unresolved identity checks
  • Technology or witness limits

Identity, security, and witnesses

RON commonly combines identity proofing, ID credential analysis, secure live audio/video, electronic signatures, and a notarial certificate. Recordings and platform records are retained as required. Methods depend on applicable law and the selected provider.

We coordinate witness needs and review signer location before confirming. Out-of-state or international signers may qualify; document acceptance, identity methods, and separate witness rules still apply.
